New Year Update

January 21, 2020

Happy New Year! We hope that you had a wonderful holiday and are looking forward to what is to come in 2020!

We are very happy to say that we hit our goal of $3,000! Thank you to everyone who donated to our team of dedicated students who train hard not only as individuals, but also as a family. We greatly appreciate every amount as they will help get our team to tournaments!

Rutgers Taekwondo will be competing in 2 ECTC tournaments this coming spring at Princeton University and the University of Vermont. Our members took advantage of winter break and started the new year off right with some workouts created by the coaches!

Belt Testing

December 13, 2019

This past week, Rutgers Taekwondo conducted our fall semester belt testing under our head coach, Master Jamil Ghanem. Our new and returning members were tested on their poomsae (form), kicking, sparring, physical endurance, and breaking technique in order to receive their new belt for the next level.

Congratulations to everyone on their new belts! Our members did very well, and we are excited to train hard and compete at upcoming ECTC tournaments in the spring!

Thank you to those who have donated so far! With your donations, you are making a meaningful contribution to our taekwondo family.

Brown University Tournament

December 06, 2019

A couple of weeks ago, Rutgers Taekwondo traveled to Brown University to compete in the last ECTC tournament of the semester. We walked away with 11 MEDALS and the Division II 1st place trophy! We are so proud of everyone’s progress this fall. Congratulations to our medalists and let’s keep up the hard work in training for next semester!

Many new members had the opportunity to compete for the first time at Brown. Competing is a valuable experience for members to grow as martial artists and build confidence as they proudly represent our team. With your help, we would love to be able to send even more members to competitions. Thank you to everyone who has donated and shared the project so far. We are looking forward to the spring tournaments and all the effort in getting us there is very much appreciated!
